Focuses are temporary perks that can be used once you have unlocked them (through books) and have enough focus points.
Each focus has several levels that can be achieved by increasing XP on that specific focus (by using it or by using books). Each new level has slightly better bonuses and/or duration compared with the previous one and can cost more focus points.
